Start by thinking about the look you want; soft and neutral, bold and patterned, or clean and minimal. Consider how much light the room gets and how much maintenance you’re after. Large-format tiles can help smaller bathrooms feel more open, while textured finishes or smaller metro tiles add interest to walls and niches.

Measure the height and width of each wall or floor area in metres, then multiply the two to get your square metre measurement. Do this for each surface, then add everything together. Remember to always allow an extra 10% for cuts, waste and spares.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are a great choice for bathroom walls, they’re water-resistant, easy to clean, and come in a wide range of colours and styles. Glossy tiles bounce light around, while matt or textured surfaces offer a softer, more natural feel.

It depends on the material of your tiles. Porcelain tiles are non-porous, which means they don’t absorb water or stains, making them perfect for humid spaces like bathrooms. Natural stone tiles, on the other hand, can be porous, so sealing them is an important step to properly help protect the surface against moisture.

Yes you can, but be aware that polished tiles do not have a slip rating and can therefore become a little slippery when wet. We tend to advise using a polished tile for walls with a cohesive matt or textured option for floors if you want extra grip underfoot.

Beige tiles are incredibly versatile. Pair them with whites and tonal, natural colours for a calm, classic look, or add warmth with brass fittings and earthy tones like terracotta or olive green. And, of course they always work well with natural textures like wood and rattan.

Grey tiles give you loads of flexibility. For a clean, modern look, stick with crisp whites or black accents. Or for something warmer, try pairing them with sage green, warm woods, and brushed gold finishes.
