Natural Stone Slabs
Natural stone paving has neutral shades due to the fact that the stone was formed naturally through geological processes that took place hundreds of millions of years ago. As a result, you can often find beautiful detailing in genuine stone slabs such as intricate fossil prints and subtle colour variations that add depth and interest to your garden design.
The authentic look and texture of natural stone paving combined with its earthy colour palette makes it the ideal choice not only for traditional homes and barn conversions but also modern spaces that wish to capture a heritage feel.
Our stone range is hand cut giving the edges a slightly worn look, enhancing its authentic aged aesthetic. Offering medium to high durability, natural stone is ideal for many types of paving projects.
As natural stone is inherently porous, you should seal the surface to fill the micropores to prevent staining. If you prefer a naturally worn appearance, you can leave the slab unsealed for a completely authentic look and natural ageing.
When sealing, we recommend using LTP External Stone Sealer. This is a water based impregnating sealer that is both moisture repellent and stain resistant, and suitable for all types of stone. The sealer will not only enhance the appearance of the slabs but it will also help to prevent moss and mould formation too.
Limestone
Limestone paving slabs come in a range of tones from creams, orangy yellows, beiges and olives. A sedimentary rock, limestone paving slabs often feature tiny fragments of fossil remains that will have come from ancient organic reefs when the stone was forming. This feature alone makes limestone a great choice for those that are looking for something that will add a point of interest to their garden paving.
The riven surface is achieved during the manufacturing process by splitting the stone across its naturally formed layers, resulting in the surface having anti-slip properties.
Sandstone
Sandstone is another type of sedimentary rock that is largely composed of silicate grains. Colours can range from silvery greys to beiges, terracotta tones and creams. Due to its natural origin, you can expect slight colour variations that will enhance the beauty and authenticity of your new paving.
Similar to our limestone range, our sandstone paving has hand cut edges along with riven surfaces for a beautiful textured finish.
Outdoor Porcelain Paving Slabs
Unlike natural stone, porcelain paving is a manmade material and because of this, it offers greater design choice. As well as mimicking natural textures and tones like sandstone and limestone, you can also find a whole host of other styles and colours including concrete, marble and slate effect. The colour palette ranges from deep anthracite greys to modern, almost white creams, so you are sure to find the perfect paving stone to meet your unique style preferences.
Just because porcelain is manmade, it doesn’t mean that it is an inferior type of paving product. In fact, porcelain offers many benefits over natural stone. For example, it’s non-porous making it both moisture and stain resistant and it is also far more resistant to cracking from being exposed to very low temperatures and frost. It also has a textured surface giving anti-slip properties, and it is incredibly hard wearing.
Outdoor Paving Slab Sizes
Our outdoor range is available in either 600x900mm or 600x600mm slab sizes. Porcelain slabs come in 20mm thickness, while outdoor stone slabs come in calibrated 22mm thickness.

How do I clean outdoor porcelain paving stones?
As our outdoor porcelain tiles are generally regarded as algae, moss and stain resistant, they are very low maintenance making the perfect choice for those that want as little hassle as possible.
It is recommended that you give your porcelain slabs a clean every once in a while with hot soapy water to preserve its appearance. We recommend using LTP Porcelain Floor Tile Cleaner. In cases where you can see a build-up of algae (this can occur when the tiles have had little to no maintenance), we recommend using LTP Black Spot and Algae Remover.
How do I maintain outdoor natural stone paving tiles?
As already mentioned, we highly recommend sealing stone paving as this will increase longevity, and help to repel stains, moss and algae. Sealing will also make it easier to clean which is essential if you want a low maintenance solution.
Periodic cleaning should be scheduled whether your stone has been sealed or not. Simply wash your patio with a solution of hot, soapy water to maintain its look. A spring clean is always advised after the winter to remove any organic debris and surface markings. A diluted cleaning solution such as LTP Grimex is recommended.
Can I jet wash outdoor stone paving?
We don’t recommend jet washing sealed stone slabs as the water pressure can compromise the integrity of the sealant.
