For those looking for something more than a simple stone or concrete design, you should definitely consider browsing through our full porcelain paving range to find the right style for you.
Extremely strong and hard-wearing, porcelain slabs are specifically designed for use outside and are fully protected against all types of weather, meaning they won't crack or fracture when exposed to sudden temperature changes.
Add to this their natural scratch-resistance and waterproof properties, and they're essentially immune to scuffs, scrapes, mould, and mildew, making porcelain paving slabs the ideal choice for any sized garden throughout the year.
But the benefits of outdoor porcelain tiles don’t stop there. Due to the way porcelain paving is made and manufactured, you can choose from an enormous range of printed styles and visual aesthetics!
This includes classic effects like sandstone and limestone, as well as a whole host of distinct colours, such as grey porcelain slabs and beige porcelain paving, meaning you can easily create a traditional or modern aesthetic in your garden without any of the associated downsides of other flooring materials.

Porcelain paving FAQs
Got a question around our outdoor porcelain tiles? Take a look at our frequently asked questions below or contact us directly to speak with one of our tiling experts:
How are porcelain tiles made?
The best porcelain slabs (such as those we sell at Stone Superstore) are made by baking a mixture of clay, sand, and minerals in a mould at extremely high temperatures to eliminate nearly 100% moisture. Once cooled, porcelain paving slabs are then ground and polished to a smooth finish, ready for you to buy!
Are outdoor porcelain tiles slip resistant?
Absolutely! Outdoor porcelain slabs are made to be resistant to all forms of moisture with their R11 rating, including against rain and water splashes, making them perfect if you’re thinking of splashing out on a swimming pool or outdoor hot tub.
Why are porcelain slabs more durable than natural stone?
Porcelain paving is widely considered more durable than traditional natural stone because of the way it’s made. In a large portion of cases, natural stone can be quite porous. This allows moisture to seep in, which can then cause them to stain or promote mould growth.
On top of this, the way porcelain slabs are made and sealed gives them a greater degree of protection against temperature changes, reducing the likelihood that they might crack or fracture at extreme temperatures.
Can I use porcelain tiles outside?
If the tiles you’re using are specifically outdoor porcelain tiles, then yes, this won’t be a problem. However, you should avoid using indoor porcelain outside as outdoor paving tiles require a deeper thickness. If you are after consistent tiling between your home and garden, then be sure to browse our indoor and outdoor porcelain tiles.
Is porcelain paving cheaper than stone?
In many cases, porcelain paving is the same price if not cheaper than natural stone, making it a good option for someone renovating their garden on a budget. Not only that, but porcelain is much cheaper in the long run because of its lower maintenance costs.
